Description was analyzed by contents analysis. Data was collected from 15 people. Bereaved by illness 10, suicide 3, accident 1, stillbirth 1. Participants wrote a story about \"a falling leaf (dead person) and the tree trunk (bereaved person)\". Results : Leaves left messages for the bereaved and complained of despair (70%). Tree trunks felt sadness/lonlyness and nostalgia (80%).
