The analysis generated 14 categories, 50 subcategories, and 170 codes related to the actual content and intention of nursing practice. The results suggest that organizations should intentionally involve ward nurses in ethical practices to promote the abolition of physical restraints by utilizing their roles and wealth of clinical experience and influence, and to strengthen and promote the removal of physical restraints in the organization as a whole. It is also important to encourage mutual support from multiple professions. In practice, such efforts increase the motivation of ward nurses and contribute to the development of a hospital-wide culture of mutual support.
