| 内容記述 | [Objective] This study aimed to clarify the anxiety regarding the acquisition of basic nursing skills among nursing students who were affected by infection prevention measures and changes in class formats due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [Methods] A total of 59 items covered in the specialized course "Basic Nursing Skills" at Junior College A were analyzed to assess students' anxiety about mastering these skills. In addition, qualitative data were collected through students' free-text responses to the questions: "What makes you anxious about mastering basic nursing skills?" and "Why are you anxious about mastering basic nursing skills?" The qualitative data were analyzed using an inductive qualitative approach. [Results] More than 50% of the students reported feeling "anxious" about acquiring skills in eight specific items. The qualitative data yielded 610 codes, which were further organized into 25 subcategories and 4 overarching categories. [Conclusion] Although third-year students, who experienced the greatest restrictions on on-site training and exercises, showed higher anxiety levels in only two items, it cannot be concluded that the lack of on-site experience was the sole contributing factor. Nonetheless, the qualitative data revealed the students' genuine anxiety regarding their ability to master basic nursing skills, reflecting the impact of restricted clinical training opportunities. |
