Pre- and post-training data were collected by administering questionnaires of our own design to the trainees. The survey results were as follows: (1) Before the blood sampling training, students were in a somewhat high state of anxiety. The greatest degree of anxiety was for "the fear of causing pain or anxiety to the patient." (2) Immediately before the blood sampling training, the level of "anxiety about whether they can insert the needle into the vein without a problem" was found to be significantly lower among the students who succeeded in the simulation training in intravenous injection than those who did not. (3) "Supervision by the instructor" was the most effective method for reducing students' anxiety during blood sampling training.
